Educational Opportunities

Some of the educational opportunities available through the Boyce Thompson Institute:

• Internships
• Listing of classroom activities developed by educators at BTI
• Listing of external links to educational materials
• Teacher training opportunities through the Curriculum Development Workshop
• Group tours of the greenhouse and lab facilities
• Kohut Teaching Lab: This space is available for on-campus groups in need of lab space or for visiting groups interested in doing workshops related to plant biology
• Class visits: The outreach coordinator is available throughout the year to host groups at BTI or visit classrooms to talk about any aspects of plant biology and/ or implement plant-based activities. Additionally, scientists specializing in specific topics may be available to visit local classrooms
• After school programming: A set of 10 fun and educational after school activities, suitable for K-5th grade students, can be presented to local groups. These can also be modified for younger audiences
